James B. Lockhart, Jr., M.D.
Raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Lockhart graduated from Millsaps College and earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi in Jackson. He participated in a rotating internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where he also completed his surgical residency. Dr. Lockhart served in the medical corps of both the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander.
Dr. Lockhart has played an important role in breast cancer research and the care of patients with breast cancer. He has been in the practice of general surgery at Surgical Associates since 1971.
